The Science and Design of Structural Engineering

Initial slab design using thin slab technology to maximize the number of inhabitable floors within the 400 ft. maximum height envelope. An innovative “linked” shear wall system reduced the amount of concrete walls required to resist wind and seismic loads. Optimization of shear wall sizes and locations coordinated with the architectural and use requirements.
