The total project includes approximately 3.9 million SF of floor area contained in 16 residential towers, each 18 stories high, in two building types: the Joint Tower and the Iconic Tower. The towers start at a structured plaza deck designed for extensive landscaping, vehicle and fire truck loads over two levels of basement parking for 3,200 cars and measures approximately 590,000 SF at each level.
BASE was brought in by the international development and construction team to incorporate fast-track flat plate construction to the Indian market. The contractor’s engineering manager noted, “BASE deleted somewhat 4,600 metres of beams from the project and converted it into a total flat plate floor system. To be more specific, 25% of the formwork was reduced, 4% of the concrete and a staggering 70% reduction in reinforcement. This saved Leighton and EMAAR MGF 28% from the global construction cost of the project.”
