Guam Regional Medical City in Structure Magazine
Posted 11/1/2016 – The November issue of Structure magazine features an article about Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) written by BASE VP Frank Humay and Project Manager Yuriy Mikhaylov. The new $240 million, 130-bed acute care facility on Guam provides a much needed influx of health care professionals and specialists, easing the burden for local residents to seek medical care off-island. In the article, Frank and Yuriy describe the challenges involved in designing the new facility to resist typhoon winds, very high seismic forces, and a corrosive tropical environment in such a remote location.
