Carbon Reduction

BASE is committed to the reduction of embodied carbon as evidenced by our participation in SE 2050. As a champion of responsible design, we implement strategies that reduce material consumption on all our projects as a first step to reducing Global Warming Potential (GWP). We use internal tools to track material usage and other metrics across a wide range of projects to benchmark our projects and ensure we are moving forward. We routinely discuss efficient design strategies internally and in project team meetings to ensure efficiency in design is at the forefront of our march towards reducing GWP.

BASE embraced a carbon reduction strategy long before carbon reduction became popular. This included obtaining LEED Innovation in Design points for carbon reduction 20+ years ago and continuing to disseminate information on our approaches through technical presentations, writing papers, etc. We continue to integrate sustainable practices, prioritizing low-carbon design solutions throughout all BASE projects worldwide. This commitment is communicated internally to all employees, as well as externally to clients, partners, and stakeholders.
