We’re excited to be #3 on the BFTWF (Best Firm to Work For) list in the structural engineering category. This is our 14th appearance in the national ranking and fifth consecutive year in the top five. The primary reason BASE is a BFTWF is because of our talented, dedicated and service-oriented staff. Senior Structural Engineer Kevin Galvez was named a 2024 Rising Star in the AEC Industry by Civil + Structural Engineer magazine. He joined our team in 2019 and has managed projects in some of the most isolated places on earth.
Currently Ehab and Akashi can often be found in and around Camp Blaz, assuring contractor quality on large Navy projects like the $546 million 5-BEQ project.
Michael Ortega and Juan Simosa recently passed certification exams.

Anantha shared best practices on a range of topics with project examples including layout of tendons within irregular column layouts, long-term deflections, punching shear and shoring/reshoring considerations, shrinkage, transfer girders, etc.
